Eager to learn

It has been so encouraging seeing how enthusiastic the children in Mablauwuni village have been as they attend holiday lessons at Crossroads Community Church. The desire to learn is pretty infectious. They are learning basic English and Mathematics and the children range from Grade Three to Form One (Year 3 to Year 8) We pray for increased understanding.

Interestingly enough, after lessons the children simply want to play together. God is just so good and gracious.

Praises to our God....

Psalm 138:1 - 3

" I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart
before the 'gods' I will sing your praise
I will bow down towards your Holy temple
and will praise your name
for your love and faithfulness, for
you have exalted above all things
your name and your word.
When I called you, you answered me;
you made me bold......."

Have you ever had those times when your heart and speech is consumed with 'God only?' Can't get enough of Him......Praise Him and praise Him again and again and again....

Thought for the day

No matter what we go through or have been through, one thing is certain....... God is ever present because He has plans for your life and a destiny for you. When you are down, He will lift you up and carry you through your challenges. He will be God when you are happy or sad, when you are overwhelmed or receive the blessing. He has chosen you, His prized possession. He died for you so Surely, He will hold you up. He says in Isaiah 41 verse 10: "So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Stephen and Havison at Crossroads Community Church
Some men from Mablauwuni village gathered together at Crossroads Community Church on Sunday morning to discuss Marriage and lobola (dowry). The older men were teaching the younger men how to go about doing things correctly. Two hours later, the men were still discussing while the younger men had lots of questions. Further discussions will take place....

Ladies Meeting - Perseverance

We had a wonderful time at the Ladies Meeting held at Crossroads Community Church on Saturday 19th August. It was a combined meeting with ladies from Crossroads, New Life Church, United Pentecostal Church and Brethren Church. Our theme was Perseverance. Some highights shared were:

  • There are many examples of men and women in the Bible who persevered like
  • Job, Mary, Moses, Abraham, Paul and Silas, David, the woman with the issue of blood and so on.

How do we persevere in the times we are living in

1    Hold on to God – Let Him be your anchor (God, how do I live through this?) God heard the cries of his people in Egypt and sent Moses to deliver them. God hears you, He sees you and He’ll handle your difficulty.

2   Persevere in prayer and reading the word

3   Keep believing God until your answer comes. There are many distractions to keep you away from God.

4   Be humble and have a clear conscience Acts 24 verse 16. We cannot hide anything from God.

Live a Godly life: a life that is upright before Him

Praise God continuously – through good time and through difficulties Paul and Silas praised God while in Prison.

Thank God continuously

Live in peace – John 14 verse 27. Peace is a place of power, Hold your peace   Romans 14 verse 17

    Forgive people

Your attitude helps you overcome life’s challenges.

The ladies were encouraged to continue their faith journey and to persevere.

Chronological Bible Story Telling

Stephen Manhanga

For the past couple of months, we have been doing Chronological Bible Storying (CBS) at Crossroads. We have been focusing on the book of Acts – the church planting track.

The response has been good and so has the participation. CBS is great for dialogue/interaction and folk connecting with one another. Its makes for a good and enjoyable learning environment.
