Distractions

A type of Distraction
I looked up the meaning of "Distractions" which means - 'A thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else' or 'blocking or diminishing the reception of desired information'.

Distractions come in many forms from the use of technological devices through to different people trying to distract you. These distractions can be in the Church, in the workplace and even in the home. There may be a motive behind the distractions but whatever the case is, when you realise what the distractions are intended to do, you will rise above it.

God has a plan for our lives and distractions may put you 'off course' for a while, but it doesn't prevent God's destiny for your life. He knows your beginning, your middle and your end. In-fact, He knows everything - including the distractions. God knows the plans He has for your life. They are plans to give you a hope and a future.

Joseph, from the Bible, is an obvious choice of someone who had many distractions in his lifetime. Despite his setbacks. he reached the place and position that God intended for him. David encountered many 'distractions' from the time he was anointed to be the next King to the time he actually became King.
Peaceful moments

For those of you who are being distracted intentionally or unintentionally, know that God has 'got you'. Keep your eyes on Him and not on the distractions. Fulfill the calling of God in your life. Let the peace of God rule your heart and mind.

Stay blessed.

The seen and the unseen

The Bible tells us the man looks at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart. This is true of so many things. Man looks at what can be seen but God looks at both the seen and the unseen. The gifts may be evident but more importantly is the character and the state of the heart.
The Lord called you, ordained you and set you apart for His purposes.  Lets live our lives for Him.
Let the unseen radiate on the outside not simply that which can be seen.

Thank you Lord that You never ever change and that You are the Great I Am.

It's Time Conference

Sam Poe
It's Time has been so prophetic in so many ways. We had been looking forward to this conference because it would be a time for believers from different churches to celebrate together, to hear the word together, to receive ministry together and to fellowship together. On the other hand, we looked forward to seeing Sam Poe again and Livy Gibbs. Sam and Marlene Poe have served in our community at Ebenezer Agricultural Training Centre and at Crossroads Community Church. It has been six years since his return trip.

The It's Time conference itself was amazing. Knowing that God uses ordinary people like us in the prophetic was great and seeing it in action was even better. God has been and is still doing a deep work in the hearts and lives of people. Sam and Livy served us so well. What a joy that we can be one new man in
Christ..........from the Nations to the Nations

The magnificence of God

The splendour of the King
Isaiah 66:1 - 2 'Thus said the Lord, The heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool...."

The greatness of God is beyond comprehension. We stand in awe and praise Him.

Psalm 145:3 - 5 (MSG)
God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough
There are no boundaries to his greatness
Generation after generation stands in awe
of your great work
Each one tells stories of your mighty acts
Your beauty and splendour have everyone
talking
I compose songs of your wonders.

Jeremiah 10:6
There is none like You, O LORD,
You are great, and great is Your name....

So many ways to express the magnificence of God

Thought for the day

"Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever"

He is the 'the Way, the Truth and the Life"

He will never leave you nor forsake you

He holds you in the palm of His hand.

Come, let us reason together.....

Hard at work at Crossroads Community Church
Generally, the children have done pretty well with their lessons.

They are now preparing for the Third and final term of 2017 which begins next week. Let's hope they will continue to be enthusiastic about their academic lessons and enjoy their play time.

Prayer for the Nations

We have been hearing about the floods in Houston, Texas, USA and the South Asia floods in India, Nepal, Bangladesh which have affected millions of adults and children. We may not be able to help physically but we can offer up a word of prayer to all those affected and those directly involved in assisting. We serve a sovereign God. There is so much to pray for - far and wide, including our own Nations.
We have this hope in 1 John 5:14 "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us."
James 5:16 says "The prayer of a righteous man avails much."

God has given to us the Nations as an inheritance. Lets PRAY and stand in the gap.

Prayer not only changes things but it also changes the individuals that pray.

Victory is ours.....

Let God lead, guide and direct you.The enemy is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. He has come to kill, steal and destroy but we serve the Almighty God, the creator of heaven and earth and His plans are to give you a HOPE and a FUTURE. If God is for us, who can be against us. He is:
  • El Shaddai - Lord God Almighty
  • El Elyon - The Most High God
  • Jehovah Shammah - The Lord is There
  • Adonai - Lord, Master
  • Jehovah Tsidkenu - The Lord our Righteousness
  • Jehovah Sabaoth - The Lord of Hosts
Praise His Name!

An Open Door...2

May God open doors in your life that no man can shut and may He shut those doors that no man can open.
He can do exceedingly, abundantly, above..... our minds cannot even begin to fathom it.

What an incredible God we serve.....
