Wisdom’s Companion
Pointers from the article:
·
Lack of patience often sees us speaking without thinking.
·
Everything must be done immediately. Everything must be done
quickly.
·
The cell phone seems to be welded on the ears of ‘most
people’.
·
Everything must be done this instant. The problem is that
‘this instant’ might not be the best moment to act (or react).
·
“Tribulation worketh
patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope,” Romans 5:3 – 4
·
Patience comes through hardship. Younger ‘people’ are often
more impulsive, because they have not experienced the hard knocks older
‘people’ have.
·
‘Young people have’ new ideas and ….innovative ways. But
patience is absolutely essential is …… if new ideas are going to be successful.
·
As some one once said, patience is not passive – it’s active.
·
St Augustine said: “Patience is the companion of wisdom.” As
we start to become more wise, we start to become more patient.
·
Job was severely tested – and became more patient and
understanding, saying: “The fear of the
Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.” Job 28:28
·
If we are always in a hurry, we speak without thinking. A
word said in haste can never be deleted or taken away…………….
·
If our words are not going to bring hope, faith and glory to
God, let us not say them.
