  • ·       The Bible will always be the center of controversy.

God Can (3)

When the enemy comes up against you, it is not because you are being disobedient, in sin, have no faith or are unworthy. It is because he is fighting against your destiny and purpose.

We need to realize that we are in a battle. The enemy can use anyone to try and wound you or distract you from your God-given destiny. There is a great battle for your mind as deception is rife.

But, like Jehoshaphat, give praise to the Lord and He will take over your battle. He will overthrow the enemy and victory will be given to you. 2 Chronicles 20 : 1 - 30. This is because God Can!

Heart issues

Why is it so important to know your heart?

1  The heart is the centre of our being.

2    If we store up good things in our hearts, our words and actions will follow.

3  Whatever is in the well comes up in the bucket! From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

4    Sometimes, words are not spoken but it’s the actions that demonstrate what is in the heart.

5   The Bible says in Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

6
Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it flows the issues of life.”
How to keep the heart right, incorruptible, untainted
·         I will praise the Lord with my whole heart
·         I will trust in the Lord with my whole heart
·         I will love the Lord with my whole heart
AND
Psalm 119:11 “Thy word will I hide in my heart that I might not sin against you”.

The Day After.....

It’s so good to reflect on the Easter service as we continue with our theme of "A Year of Breakthrough"

Stephen Manhanga led the service and we had a wonderful time of prayer and rejoicing that Jesus Christ is ALIVE.

Brilliant Khoza, one of the Elders at Crossroads, shared a word from 1 Samuel 1:1 – 15. He shared on Hannah and Peninnah.

Peninnah could have children while Hannah was barren, Hannah was crying to God for a child to the point of making a vow in verse 11. She prayed in such earnest that Eli thought she was drunk.

We see her breakthrough in verse 20 “so in the course of time Hannah conceived and gave birth to a son.”

God is faithful.

Beauty

We’ve all heard that old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We find many things beautiful like the sea, the view from a mountain top, open landscape, a painting, ballet dancing, a book, animals, people too. The beauty looked at today focuses on people. Real Beauty begins inside a person.

The Bible mentions women who were beautiful to look at like:
·         Rebekah. The Bible tells us that she was a beautiful girl in Genesis 24:15
·         Queen Vashti. King Xerxes wanted Queen Vashti to wear her royal crown so that he could display her beauty to the people and nobles for “she was lovely to look at”. Esther 1:11. Her husband wanted to ‘display’ her beauty. She was obviously a beautiful woman – easy on the eyes.

·         Rachel.  Genesis 29:17 states that “Rachel was lovely in form and beautiful.”

·         Esther. After Queen Vashti was deposed, Esther became the next Queen but “before a girl came to go to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics.” Esther 2:12. That is a lot of time and effort spent on ones physical appearance. She must have been absolutely gorgeous.

Appearance or outer beauty is important to us and we can spend time and money on it. Inner beauty is of greater importance.

Patience, gentleness, kindness, joy, peace etc are “beauty treatments” that assist us to becoming truly lovely – truly beautiful – a sight to behold……. on the inside. Real Beauty begins inside a person.
