Fall on our knees

Stephen Manhanga shared the story about Lazarus. He emphasized certain aspects of the story like:
  • When Jesus heard about Lazarus death, he waited 2 days before heading off to Bethany.
  • When Martha saw him, she said 'If only you had been here our brother would not have died."
  • When Mary saw Jesus, she fell at his feet before saying the exact words like Martha. The Jews that followed her were weeping.
  • Sometimes, in order for our breakthrough to take place, we need to be prepared to fall at Jesus feet. The woman with the issue of blood fell on hands and knees so she could touch Jesus garments.
  • John 11:35 ' Jesus wept" shows the emotion he felt at seeing Mary and Martha's grief and the love he had for Lazarus.
  • When Jesus approached Lazarus tomb, he said "roll the stone away"
  • Sometimes we build walls in our lives which need to be 'rolled' away before the issues or situations can be addressed.
  • Jesus prayed to God first before speaking to Lazarus. He who was dead, rose to life. Speak to those dry bones......
  • Lazarus was all wrapped up, wearing 'clothes' that were not befitting for a man that was alive.
  • The wrapping needed to be removed in order for him to be free. Jesus said 'loose him and let him go'
It was a good message. May we be hearers and doers of the word.
