Choices

We make choices/decisions on a daily basis - whether we know it or not. These decisions either draw us closer to God or we move further away from Him.

1. We make choices about the plans we've made or are making: Proverbs 29:21 " Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Proverbs 16:9 "The heart of man plans his way but the Lord establishes his steps."
2. We make choices on what to think: Philippians 4:8 " Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."
3. We make choices on who to worship: Joshua 24:15b " But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
4. We make choices on whom or what to trust: Proverbs 3:4 - 5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path."
5. We make choices on the impressions made by man: 1 Samuel 16:7 " Do not look on his appearance .......... For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart." 

So many choices need to be made daily. Colossians 3:17 is a great help "And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
