Movie Review: Joyful Noise

Divinity Church Choir is hoping to win the national Joyful Noise competition but tension and discord arise between the 2 leading ladies: newly appointed director VI Rose Hill played by Queen Latifha and GG Sparrow, played by Dolly Parton. It's a case of traditional v modern, old style v new style, "same old, same old" v innovative and energetic. I guess you need to keep up with the times and in order to do that, you'll need to change as VI Rose discovered and the Pastor of the church. It reminded me of "Clash of the Choirs" - a reality talent contest with Blake Shelton, Kelly Rowland, Michael Bolton, Nick Lachey and the legendary Patti LaBelle. The choirs are awesome.

The way the 2 ladies have a go at each other is .............interesting. The good thing is that it all ends well. Other themes that flow through this movie are young love, family life and togetherness.

It's quite an interesting movie.
