Thought for the day - Thought patterns

Raymond Meneses shared a thought during the Worship Workshop on our THOUGHTS: Romans 12:2 "Do not be conformed to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Raymond likened our thoughts to water. He said that water - moving water, likes to take the easy route as it flows and it digs furrows as it moves. With time, these furrows get deeper and deeper. That is how our thought patterns are. If we continue to think wrong thoughts, imagining things that are not there, that don't exist, they dig roots into our lives and we start to believe it. We convince ourselves that what we think and believe is right.

When our minds are renewed, we start to dig new furrows. The more we think about things, the deeper it gets. We think of God's good, pleasing and perfect will for us. If we hit our heads against a wall, lets continue to press in and think of things that are good, noble, honourable, lovely and pleasing to God.
